He also approved a pilgrimage plan called Sivagiri pilgrimage to promote education, devotion to God, cleanliness, agriculture, handicrafts, trade, and technical training. After his death, this project was started in 1932, when pilgrims came and learned about these values to enhance their lives.


The Guru attained Samadhi (passed away) on 20th September 1928. His followers observe this day as his Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi.
