IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation), a subsidiary of Indian Railways, is the official platform for online train ticket booking in India. It allows passengers to book tickets, check seat availability, and access a range of railway-related services, including catering, tourism, and other amenities across the railway network.
An IRCTC account is necessary for online train booking and Tatkal train ticket booking. Registration is free and requires a valid mobile number and email ID.

Indian Railways allows passengers to book tickets up to 60 days before the journey date, excluding the day of travel. Hence, you can book your train tickets 60 days in advance.

Online booking for general and non-Tatkal train tickets is available from 12:20 AM to 11:45 PM every day, including Sundays. For Tatkal tickets, booking opens at 10:00 AM for AC classes and 11:00 AM for non-AC classes, every day of the week.
