.NET Developer

Roles and responsibilities

redBus.in is the largest bus ticketing website in the country with hundreds of thousands of searches every day. The engineering team at redBus builds multiple web applications including redBus.in. All of these web properties are built on ASP.NET.

We are currently looking for engineers with at least 2 years of experience in building scalable web applications to join us in our efforts to make redBus the most ubiquitous bus ticketing solution. The web team takes pride in developing beautiful, intuitive, lean, and highly responsive web applications. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for building solid server side infrastructure and features using ASP.NET. You will need experience in building highly scalable and efficient server side code because just the redBus.in front end servers serve hundreds of thousands search results and real-time seat availability views every day. You need to be good at analyzing requirements and coming up with awesome designs. You should feel at home dealing with large volumes of data, relational or otherwise.

Engineering Manager

Roles and responsibilities

We are India's largest bus ticketing company with cumulative sales of over 15 million seats till date. One of the biggest reasons for our success is the strong, energetic, and customer-centric engineering team we have.

The engineering team at redBus builds and manages multiple internet properties including redBus.in. We are currently looking for rockstar engineering leads/managers with at least 7 years of experience in building large scale web applications or transaction systems. We want our engineering leads to be able to understand the business, solve complex technical problems, and lead a team of smart engineers by example. We also expect our engineering leads to take accountability for the overall quality of what goes into production and build the infrastructure needed to monitor every aspect of what is in production. Finally, good communication skills are necessary for engineering leads.

Requirement An ideal candidate will have deep expertise in at least one technology stack and has seen at least one full product development cycle first hand.

Engineering Manager – Mobile Applications

Roles and responsibilities
  • Work on all redBus apps and lay down the foundation to scale up our app growth across all platforms
  • Review code developed by the team and come up with suggestions.
  • Ensures that implementation follows designs (native patterns whenever needed), and directs modifications of designs
  • Responsible for resource and app release estimates
  • Strongly influence peers and technical staff within the team & coaches less-experienced staff members in a mentor-type relationship
Requirement
  • 5+ years exp in software development engineer and/or technical lead
  • Should have Strong technical knowledge on two of the mobile platforms (iPhone, Android, Blackberry or WP8).
  • Senior technical leader with mobile Application experience with exposure in developing and deploying Applications/products.
  • Must have worked developing apps for 2 years atleast
  • Experience in Javascript, Jquery
  • Expert at designing, coding, and implementing with 24/7 stability, performance, scalability, localization requirements in mind.

Senior Software Engineer / Lead – Java

Roles and responsibilities

We are India's largest bus ticketing company with cumulative sales of over 15 million seats till date. Our Transaction team, also known as the Java team is responsible for building scalable transaction backend, real-time accounting solutions, reconciliation with anything and everything, and deep integration with our ERP solution. The transaction team also owns the responsibility for designing and managing all the central databases used by various applications.

We are currently looking for engineers with at least 3 – 6 years of experience in building high volume transaction platforms to join us in our efforts to rebuild the entire transaction backend. The transaction team uses Core Java, Spring, Hibernate, and MySql to deliver the performance and reliability needed from the transaction backend. If you love building complex systems, have deep expertise in the above mentioned technologies, and have the ability to produce efficient code that rarely needs to go through a bug-fixing cycle, you may want to talk to us. You need to be good at analyzing requirements and coming up with awesome designs. You should feel at home dealing with large volumes of data, relational or otherwise.

Leader UX

We are looking for an adept Lead UI/ UX who can join our Product team based in Bangalore

We are expanding our UI/YX team and are looking for an outstanding full-time Lead UI/UX designer who is excited about defining and building a platform that changes how people think about bus travel. You will be leading the design team, reporting to the CPO and building an exciting new team around you.

Roles and responsibilities
  • Define company’s UX guiding principles and interaction styles
  • Bring strong creative skills to translate business needs and user goals into practical design solutions
  • Own the growth of the design team / Manage all members of design team
  • Work with the product management & development team to establish a strong user-centered design culture and create innovative interfaces.
  • Contribute to product requirements and design wireframes and functional prototypes.
  • Interpret user feedback, and make design decisions based on that feedback.
Requirement
  • Have experience conducting qualitative user research (interview/feedback creation), a/b tests, and first click tests.
  • Have shipped mobile products
  • Have experience thinking about branding and marketing

Front End Developer: Mobile

Roles and responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain mobile web applications using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media
  • Ensure mobile website works well across all major browsers (including low end browsers like UC mini) and all OS types
  • Work with backend technical team for API integrations and server side implementations
  • Identify problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and correct problems
  • Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets standards
Requirement
  • Min. 2-4 years experience in Mobile Web development and engineering
  • Highly proficient in HTML5/CSS3, JQuery and JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX

UX Designer

Some of the questions our customers ask: "Which is the best bus for me?", "Where will I board my bus from?", "How does the boarding point look?", "Will I get the seat promised to me?", "How do I pay for my ticket?".. and it goes on.
