Special Buses for Ugadi and Eid

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will operate additional special buses to manage increased passenger demand during the festive season of Ugadi, Ramzan, and Eid. The move aims to ensure smooth travel for passengers heading to their hometowns and returning after the holidays.

Peak Travel Dates to Note

TGSRTC has identified key travel dates based on expected passenger volume:

  • Outbound travel rush: March 17-18
  • Return journey rush: March 23

Passengers are advised to plan their trips around these dates and book tickets early to avoid last-minute unavailability.

Fare Structure for Special Buses

Special buses operated during the festive period may have fares up to 1.5 times higher than regular services. However, standard buses will continue to run at normal ticket prices, giving passengers flexible travel options based on their budget and urgency.

Free Travel Scheme for Women

Women passengers can continue to avail free travel under the Mahalakshmi scheme. This benefit is applicable to the following bus categories:

  • Palle Velugu
  • Express
  • City Ordinary
  • Metro Express

This initiative is expected to significantly boost travel accessibility during the festive period.

Increased Fleet Deployment and Route Management

TGSRTC will dynamically deploy additional buses based on real-time demand. Buses may be reassigned to high-traffic routes to manage congestion and ensure timely services for passengers across key destinations.

Passengers are encouraged to book tickets in advance through official channels to secure seats during peak travel days. Early booking can help avoid higher fares on special buses and ensure a smoother travel experience.
