Central Railway has announced an extensive summer special train programme, deploying over 2,012 services across its network to manage the surge in passenger traffic during the summer travel season. An additional 120 Special Trains on Demand are also scheduled to run.
The special trains will operate from multiple originating stations – Mumbai (CSMT and LTT), Pune, Daund, Hadapsar, Solapur, Badnera, and Nagpur – connecting passengers to destinations across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.

- Tickets can be booked via the RailOne app and also redRail
- Unreserved coach tickets can be booked through the UTS system at normal charges.
What This Means for Passengers
With the introduction of these special services, Indian Railways aims to ease congestion, improve seat availability, and ensure a more comfortable travel experience during one of the busiest times of the year. Travellers on the Mumbai-UP corridor and within Maharashtra stand to benefit most, though early booking is still advisable as demand is expected to be high.
