Vijayawada is one of the biggest cities of Andhra Pradesh. Located atop the Krishna delta, the city lies between River Budameru on the north and the Indrakiladri Hills on the west. The meaning of the word Vijayawada is – ‘The Place of Victory’. It is said that the city was named Vijayawada when Lord Shiva blessed Arjuna on the Indrakiladri Hills. Another version is that the city got the name as Goddess Durga killed a demon she became ‘Vijaya’ (victorious) and the place where she rested became ‘Vijayawada’. quality is nice but bus stops in some places for a long time. and the bus also stops a long time in drivers house
The worst experience so far I have faced.I hate remembering it and writing it here, I thought the feedback may be helpful for someone. Bus was more than an hour late. Tried calling the number - 9391774869 provided by you in the SMS. Called this number more than 25 times, some time no answer, some times busy and most of the times rejecting the call. Catch hold of other passengers who were travelling by same bus, they also tried calling the same. Our efforts were in vain. No clue on if the bus is on the way, if it comes or not,or broke down, no clue on what so ever. Then called red bus customer care number. They also dont have a clue on when the bus comes. Second part was more frustrating: The bus suspension was horrible who ever sits in the second half of the bus, our seats are bumping up and heads hitting the roof.passengers stood in the bus holding the seats till reaching chilakaluripet. 8 passengers went to the driver and asked him stop the bus, requested to put us in a different bus as the bus condition was horrible. The bus driver knows the bus condition and says to adjust. We all of us again called the 9391774869 the response was even more horrible. we keep calling him several times, he listens disconnect the call abruptly and when said we cant travel by this bus,he arrogantly said, who ever doesnt want to travel come to Vijayawada immediately and collect the refund. Such a disgusting irresponsible manager.I have seen these incidents threatening passengers, charging more from them, keeping chairs between the seats in early 1990s. Third part was driver: There was no support staff in the bus.Driver talks utter rubbish and speaks only Hindi with utter rudeness.more than 10 passengers requested him more than 25 times to drive slowly as we cant sit in the seats, some of them got back pain, he never listened to any one and the result was sleepless night. There is one in the bus to inform certain station is approaching and make us ready and get down in the night. We woke up throughout the night, and lucky that I got woke up when bus is nearing Tirupathi bypass and got down out of the hell. The bus was finally reached 2,5 hrs late Forget about recommending VRL and red bus, I have decided not to travel by VRL and redbus any more. I understand that redbus has little to do here, still if you dont take any action there is no point in trusting redbus service. Regards Chandra
