Palani is a small pilgrimage town situated in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. Palani is famous because of the presence of the world famous hill temple dedicated to Lord Murugan also known as Kartikeya or Subramanian. The temple is situated at an elevation of 1500 feet on Sivagiri hills and commands a splendid view of the nearby hills including the Kodaikanal Hills.
