Cuttack is the erstwhile capital and the second largest city of Odisha. Known by various nicknames like the 'Millennium City' or the 'Silver City', it is the headquarters of Cuttack district. Located at about 28 km to the north east of the capital city, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack is the judicial capital of Odisha as the Orissa High Court is located here. Cuttack is the commercial capital of Odisha. The name Katak is derived from Sanskrit, and means ‘military establishment’. Established as early as in 989 CE, Cuttack was the seat of government in Odisha for around thousand years, before a new capital was created at Bhubaneswar in 1948. These two cities are jointly referred to as Twin Cities. Cuttack is well known for its indigenous silver filigree works (Tarakasi) and woven textiles. The National Highway 5 passes through the city. Being a part of the Golden Quadrilateral project, this highway extends from Chennai to Kolkata.

Kesineni travel bus staff not waiting in case of emergency. My brother follow the bus for 15 km to give me a hand bag.I told them wait for 5 min bus staff didnt listen. Where they stop for dinner that restaurant is very bad .toilets are not useable .ladies are ve
I boarded from cuttack to hyderabad. Good things aabout the trip was 1) Punctuality was better than expected. 2) Seats were somewhat good. Now on the other side. 1) They will play some hopeless movies, probably the directors would not prefer to wwatch. 2) The bus will stop at some places wheere there is no public toilet (For ladies it will be a hell of a experience). 3) They will stop the bus for dinner at some dhaba, where no body with sound mind will prefer to eat. 4) Probably they do not clean the blankets also. Verdict: If you dont dont get the Sleeper class ticket in train, then only go for this. Over all rating 2 out of 5.
The bus stops at some poor quality restaurants. I use their bus regularly but still this time when I returned from Odisha I had some extra bags which the bus guys charged an wooping Rs. 800.00 extra. Moreover, they keep playing same movies till late night (till around 1 pm), so I couldnt have a proper sleep. During all my visits via Kesineni, I had this bad sleep as they keep playing movies with loud noise till late night. Anyone planning for a trip from Odisha (formerly Orissa) to Hyderabad or vice-versa can look for Diwakar which starts from Bhubaneswar (the capital city and around 30 Kms from Cuttack). Their buses are in better condition. Thank you. S Pradhan.
