Situated on the banks of the River Tungabhadra, the city of Raichur is famous for its fort which was built by the Kakatiya rulers in 1294 AD. The origin of the name ‘Raichur’ can be dated back to the 12th century when this city was called by the name of ‘Rachavoor’ or ‘Rachanoor’ which means ‘King's Place’. Raichur was often referred to as ‘Doab’ (two rivers) in the ancient texts as this city is situated near River Krishna and River Tungabhadra. The main attraction of the city are Hill Fort of Raichur, Bijapur styled Tomb of Pir Sailani Shah, Fort Jami Masjid, Ek-Minar-ki-Masjid, citadel or the Bala Hisar. Anegundi which is famous for the Ranganatha Temple, Pampa Sarovara, Kamal Mahal, Huchchappayana Matha and Nava Brindavana can also be visited from Raichur. Other religious places include the island of Ramagadde, Jami Masjid, Ek Minar ki Masjid, Markandeshwara Temple, and the Narada Temple.
worst experience ever. Drivers are new to this riute, they dont know the route map. took additional 3 hours to reach.
These VRL guys have no ethics to treat customer with fair. Bus started at 9.20pm and I heard talking to some passenger on phone with driver. Passenger wanted to onboard who was on the way and requesting to stayback for 10 more mins, yet these guys were arrogant and talking ruthless. Another thing even after starting at 9.20, these guys did even stop for dinner break. More importantly they stop just randomly at any place and expect to piss in open areas which is totally rude and shows discomfort to ladies.
Best part was we getting sleeper coach and whole journey was comfortable and safe...
