Miraj is a city located in the southern region of Maharashtra. It came into existence during the early 10th century. Since Miraj enjoys a strategic location, it has been in the centre of activities from early days. It is also an important junction on the central railway line of the Indian railways. Miraj has contributed a lot to the Hindustani classical music. It is also a centre for medical services and is known for propagating religious harmony. The annual Ganesh visarjan procession, lasting about 20 hours is a huge attraction here. Miraj is also a centre for artists, who perform at occasions like the Urus and Navratrotsav. The administrative office of the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya is also at Miraj. Since Miraj lies off the Mumbai-Pune-Bangalore national highway (NH4), it is easily reachable from all parts of the state. The two exits from the NH4 form a triangle with Sangli and Miraj, which lie about 50 km from each exit.
The worst bus experience I had, and I was not even drop to my destination. I was dropped a city before my destination. I would never travel again through redBus.
The VRL that I have booked to miraj was not actually travelling to Miraj. It was going to Sangli and then to Veeta. that too with improper timings I.e., time mentioned in internet was 7:30pm to 8am. But the bus went to Sangli not Miraj at almost 10am. Next Time make sure to give exact timings of the bus and exact place. I was totally not convinced as a passenger.
Ticket was booked for Miraj Destination and the bus did not went up to Miraj and were asked to unboard at Sangli. My parents who travelled are 77 yrs old and faced hardship of getting down at Sangli and then catching another bus for Miraj. This is totally unfair for such Senior Citizens facing hardship at this age.
