Located in the southwestern region of Maharashtra, on the banks of River Panchaganga, lies the historical city of Kolhapur. The presence of numerous religious centers like Mahalakshmi Temple which is known for its ancient architectural style, Jyotiba Temple, Katyani Temple, Binkhambi Ganesh Mandir, Kopeshwara Temple, BhawaniTemple and Gagangiri Maharaj Math, some of them found dotting the holy river, has given the name ‘dakshinkashi’ to this city. Other than the religious presence, the city houses several forts and other historical places. Some of the major places to visit in this well-connected town are the Maharaja’s palace also known as the New palace, Shahji Chatrapati museum, Vishalgad Fort, Irwin Agricultural Museum, Radhanagari Dam, Wax museum and Bhavani Mandap, the oldest and biggest structure in Kolhapur also known as ‘glory of the city’. And who can forget about the popular and uniquely designed Kolhapuri chappals that are exported to all over the world.
This was one of the most horrible experience with respect to vrl services.. The AC in the bus was not working,
Had a good journey... No strain..!! Staff behaviour was good, and the bus was clean .Not punctual but makes up forvit
bus took 4 hrs extra .unessesory stops..waste of time..
The staff was very loud at times, with no regards for passengers sleeping. I had seat number L1 and the front door when opened each time kept blowing away the curtains.
