Lonavala, often called Lonavla is a picturesque hill resort situated in the Pune district of Maharashtra. A popular getaway destination, Lonavala is famous for the unique charm that it possesses, especially during the Monsoons. Although it is more renowned as a hill resort, the place has achieved a special place in the gastronomic chart of the country because of a hard candy sweet known as chikki (sweetmeat made out of Groundnuts and Jaggery), which is the specialty of the region. It is also a major railway station placed on the railway line connecting Mumbai and Pune. Lonavala is also an important town along the Mumbai-Pune road. That the place is important is apparent from the fact that both the major highways - the Mumbai-Pune Expressway as well as the Mumbai-Pune highway - passes through Lonavala. Lonavala is the ideal spot to spend a quiet weekend with family and friends, away from the fast-paced city life.
It was really horrible service, I went to pick up point 20 minutes before bus time but when i reach there i was very very surprised. Pick up point was on the road, there was no stand or any shelter around. It was heavy rain and I had to stand with luggage on the road thinking its fine lets wait and hope bus will come on time. Bus was late almost 40 min and by the time I was completely wet with my luggage and i decided not to travel. I cant travel with wet luggage and myself when we informed the in charge he was saying fine you wont get refund. Seriously I would be worry for my refund rather than sorry he was a bit rude. They should tell there is no shelter and proper waiting area specially in rainy weather. I hope you would take a serious note with travel operator as it was very horrible experience for me to and moreover I had to cancel my travelling.
