Siliguri is one of the most significant towns located in the Darjeeling district in the state of West Bengal. It is strategically located along the Siliguri Corridor (also known as the Chicken’s neck), which is a thin strip of land connecting the mainland India with the northeastern part of India. Siliguri is one of the major towns in that part that it is often called the commercial centre of North Bengal. Furthermore, it serves as the transit base for those who travel to the neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar among others. There was a terrible Traffic Jam at Farakka, due to which bus was struck for 16 Hrs, thereafter we have to leave the bus and took train to my destination. There should be some arrangement to inform passenger about such occurrence.
