Asking the passengers to swap seats in the middle of sleep is BAD:
The starting points of the bus seems to be Perundurai and 5 of us boarded the bus from there. The staff in the office gave us the Boarding Pass and asked us to sit in the respective seats. The seating arrangements differed from what we had booked in redbus. We understood that the bus might be Spare and it was. Since no one was inside the bus to guide us, we assumed and seated ourselves based on the numbers pasted in the spare bus.
By the time when the bus reached Erode, we were already asleep and I woke up to the commotions of the newly boarding passengers. Two guys came and started allotting seats to them. Soon, after some time there was some confusion. Then one staff came and asked us to swap seats based on the numbers that he had in his sheet (might be the one we selected when we booked). Since we were already sleeping (Waking up an elderly during sleep meant a lot to us), me and my brother asked the staff to check with the newly passengers whether they would be able to swap but he refused to and insisted us to swap. If it was the starting point, we would have obliged but since we were already sleeping, we were reluctant. Only thing that we felt bad was that he could have made a honest attempt to fulfill our requirement. So, things heated up and they started speaking rules even though fault is on their side. Ultimately, we (and many other people who boarded the bus before the staff arrival)had to swap the seats as per their rules(!). Following are the points that i would like to point out for the management:
1. When issuing a spare bus, seating arrangements need to taken care from the start by the management.
2. Never try to wake up passengers who are already sleeping
3. When made a mistake, try to arrive at the solution which has least dissatisfaction from customer.
4. Smart thinking is the need of the hour rather than going by the book.
Other bad points:
Shawl should have been provided by the staff. When enquired by other passenger, the response was "Shawls would be provided only in Volvo buses" (I feel paying 999 rupees is definitely worth getting a shawl)
Destination reached as per the planned time (Reaching on time during festive times is a great thing!)
