The bus was more than 100 minutes late and the company did not inform us. Had to wait on a highway for so long with no place to sit. We were not provided with blankets until we reached calicut. All the while freezing due to the AC.
This trip was a horrible experience for me.Our bus was scheduled for 7.30 PM on 10th July.Boarding place was Guruayur. The bus came at 8.50 PM.More than one hour we were waiting at roadside. When we called the bus staff,he replied very casually that it will take an hour more!! We inquired near the bakery at the boarding point and they said the bus usually reaches by 9 PM.Then why on earth they have to print the time as 7.30 PM,if they cant be on time. Another problem we faced was,in the ticket it printed boarding point is at east nada.Hut off travels. We stayed during mammiyur and we got an auto and went to Hut off travels. When we reached there,a guy from the travels informed bus never comes to that point and we need to board it from mammiyur junction.Again we got an auto and went back to the same place from where we came.We even tried reaching the number printed in ticket. And guess what!! it was wrong number Our visit was a memorable one except the horrible experience we had on return trip.
The bus arrived around an hour late to the Guruvayoor bus stop which is in the middle of the road. The staff on the bus also didnt seem to be bothered that we were stranded in the rain while waiting for the bus. Worse, they did not allow us to eat our food (packed from a hotel just two hours prior) in the bus, and shouted at us in a language we didnt understand to make us close the food. This was followed by spraying of room freshener, which is understandable, however not very polite. We would not have had a problem with using the freshener when a lot of people are traveling in a bus and food smell would bother the rest. But it would have been right had they let us finish the food and then done the same. We had hardly had a few bites when he came at us shouting. They claimed that they would stop the bus later for dinner, but never did - neither for bathroom use nor for eating. We had to survive on a biscuit packet for the rest of the 12+ hours journey. The staff did not assist us the night of the journey with next day drop off details, saying anything we ought to ask them the next day after 6am. Such an unruly response makes it difficult for some travelers who have to arrange for other travel after drop off. The few good parts of this journey were the helpful agent at the main Kallada office and the driver later that morning who helped us get off at a convenient spot. I hope the bus agency makes sure they appoint more cordial staff who have the courtesy to find out if the passenger understands the language in which they are conversing.
Driver was very rude. Picked up @6:20 itself and dumped in central location. Didnt stop for dinner and left me in Mysore when I had gone to rest room. Had to run around and board again after 40 minutes. The Bangalore office wasnt picking up the call either. Wouldnt recommend kallada to anyone
