The worst experience one can ever have !!!
I had booked a ticket on Redbus for Meenakshi Travels almost one month before the Journey date. The boarding point selected was Swargate. On the Journey day, i got a call regarding the change in boarding point. They informed me that bus would not come to swargate, instead i need to come to Katraj, which is around 10 Kms far from the previous boarding point. I had luggage with me and i requested that if they can have a pick up facility from the swargate as it would not be possible for me to travel further 10 Kms with all the luggage as the city is new to me and i was the only women to board from that point. They clearly said that it is not possible and i need to come to Katraj. That was very rude. Since i had no option now, i did book a cab in the night time and travelled all the way to Katraj.
Once i reached Katraj, I was asked to wait till the bus comes. The bus took around 1 more hour to come. Now all the misery started. When i got into the bus, i noticed some one else was already sleeping in my seat. When i requested him that it was my seat, he said that he had booked the ticket. When I showed him my ticket and asked him to show his ticket, he said that he had verbally booked the ticket. I said that since i have a valid ticket, Please allow me to sit. He had no shame what so ever. He rejected to vacate the seat and had no sense on how one needs to talks to ladies. I then informed the bus driver about the same. The bus driver asked him to vacate the seat. Instead of vacating the seat, he called someone and handed the phone to the driver. The person on the other side of the phone was giving some reference that he knows the owner of the travels and asked him not to vacate the seat. Then the bus driver requested him that since it was ladies seat, please allow to take the seat. He then acknowledged the request and then the guy vacated the seat after long fight. I had 2 bags with me and asked the driver to open the baggage compartment, He said that the baggage compartment is already full and i need to keep the bags on my seat. I said how can i then sleep. He said that i had to manage and had no option as the baggage compartment is completely full. He had loaded parcels form different customers and no passenger was allowed to keep the bags in baggage compartment. I then kept my luggage on my seat. I was hardly able to sit, forget about sleep.
Then the bus started its journey at around 11 PM. It was only 5-6 kms it had travelled and the bus boke down. Initially the driver thought that the diesel had gone empty. There was no pertol station nearby. They then decided to go to the nearby petrol station and bring the diesel. It took them more than 2 hrs to return with some 40 ltrs of diesel. The bus was all standing in an lonely place on the Pune Bangalore highway. After pouring the diesel, the driver tried to start the bus, but unfortunately the bus didn't start. It was nearly 3 AM now and the bus was still about to start its journey. They then called some mechanic to see what had happened. The mechanic after looking for the problem since 1 hr, said that it was not possible for him to solve. It was now morning 6:30 AM, actually destination time but unfortunately that journey itself had not started. Then they called some other mechanic and at last at around 8 AM the bus problem was fixed and the bus was on its way. I reached home by around 5 PM. for a 7 hour journey; it took me nearly 20 hours. This was worst experience one can ever have. I really feel why the hell i booked through redbus and with that idiotic bus travels. I seek return of the fare that i had paid for the bus.
