I had booked SPS travels from Palakkad to Madurai for my parents and regretted it very badly. It is, by far, the WORST travel experience for them. To start with, the pick up point was not clear and they had to struggle (along with the local auto drivers) to find. Secondly, the bus was late by 4 hours. Yes. FOUR hours.!!! Without any notification phone call to the travelling passenger. I (sitting at home) had to call multiple numbers of SPS travels to get in touch with the driver of the bus. IN VAIN. Turned out they don't have an office in Palakkad and main office in Coimbatore does not respond at all.
10.30pm : Called up redbus and got couple of mobile numbers which were completely useless. However, the redbus executive assured that the travels/driver will get in contact with the passengers promptly. Again, IN VAIN. In addition, the customer care service of redbus shuts down @ 11pm/12 every night.(wonder why!!)..
11.00pm : Called up redbus again. Same response. Driver is on the way and would pick up the passengers shortly.
11.30pm : Redbus customer care shuts down
11.45pm : Stranded alone on the roads. All other buses departed. Panic starts to creep in. (remember, there is no SPS office in Palakkad).
00.30-01.30am : Frustrated and tired, parents start thinking of alternate plans to leave the city or go back to hotel. All phone call to SPS travels, so-called driver phone number are IN VAIN. No responsible answers.
02.00am : Bus arrives. Driver was very cool in informing that the bus was 'little' late. No explanation/apologies rendered.
After 4 long-est hours of frustration, struggle and despair - they got in the bus and took off. Needless to say that I would NEVER travel with SPS travels again. This experience is enough for a lifetime! Thank you so much.
