Everything went wrong:
1. I had booked bus with Adventure tours but the bus allotted to me was from Blue World tour. Its not that I had preference of operator but still it is not good to cheat customer.
2. I had booked a bus with 2 by 2 seating arrangement. I instead was sent to a bus with seating and sleeping arrangement. I did not want to book this kind of bus as I find them quite stuffy.
3. The bus conductor had no control over seating. It was back to screaming and shouting that used to take place at Indian bus stations about 50 years ago. When I protested, the bus conductor said I have no option but to take what he was giving me. He was also giving seats to passengers who just walked in at much cheaper price which was negotiated down to Rs 250 for Delhi-Dehradun trip.
So in the end I was in a wrong bus on a wrong seat. It took a long circuitous route of Delhi-Roorkee, Haridwar, Reeshikesh and then Dehradun. In stead of reaching at 530am it reached at 730am. It was a horrible experience. I can see that redbus has no authority, it is just a ticketing agent. They should take responsibility if they are booking the tickets. Otherwise, it just another Indian company with no accountability.
