About Chidambaram

Chidambaram is one of the most revered temple towns in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated at a distance of 58 km south of Pondicherry. Located in the central-east of Tamil Nadu in the Coleroon River Valley, Chidambaram was also known as ‘Thillai’ as the area was a forest full of Thillai Shrubs in the olden days. Some other temples located near the Nataraja Temple are the Arulmigu Thillaikali Amman Temple, Tiruvetkalam Temple, Vadieeswaran Temple, Sivakamiamman Temple and Chathapurinathar Temple, to name a few. Annamalai University and the Pitchavaram backwaters are the other attractions in the city, which attracts several travellers.     I had actually booked my return tickets for me and my wife from Chidambaram to Chennai. My boarding time was 11:59 PM, having this timing in mind we planned our trip. However someone called up around 9:30 PM and told me that bus will arrive at my boarding point only by 1:45 AM. I had no clue what to be done at the middle of the night, that too a lady besides. All the more worse even at 1:45 my scheduled bus hadnt arrived to the boarding point. The staff was at least kind enough to re-allocate us an alternate seat in a different bus. Horrible experience.

    The timing was mentioned 11:45 pm but the bus was arrived at chidhambaram @ 12:20 Am it was not good as im waiting for bus 35 mins

    They send msg 11.40 pm but bus came by 12.50 started at 1.15 night. It was mentioned semisleeper 2+2 but it is a sleeper bus . this is the 2nd time same thing happening about timings.
