Chidambaram is one of the most revered temple towns in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated at a distance of 58 km south of Pondicherry. Some other temples located near the Nataraja Temple are the Arulmigu Thillaikali Amman Temple, Tiruvetkalam Temple, Vadieeswaran Temple, Sivakamiamman Temple and Chathapurinathar Temple, to name a few. Annamalai University and the Pitchavaram backwaters are the other attractions in the city, which attracts several travellers.
