The 'worst journey' I had in my experience with SRS travels, I was traveling with my wife & my 1.5 year old kid on 17th April 2015. My experiences on all three items for the bus rating are given below.
The bus was delayed by 2hrs at boarding point itself (almost all other bus providers enroute to the same destination have already left), when checked with driver he said the delay was due to rain (when all other bus providers can go in a delay of 30min to 45min why the hell did this bus delayed 2 hrs). Then again got delayed 1hr for getting road tax at the state entry check-post. I was very frustrated (the time was 01:30 AM with my son being very uncomfortable to sleep and the bus still being stranded at Hosur check-post). I again checked with the driver, he said the permitted bus to this route went for a replacement for a broke-down bus in a different route and this bus was a replacement. Though the bus was fully occupied, the SRS travels has very LESS PRIORITY on this route Bangalore-Madurai-Sivakasi and hence replaced a good bus on this route with a poor one.
Heavily paid for the bus ticket, the screens were not properly hooked (hooks broken), very untidy and the baggage shelf damaged. Getting all-delay, this is still worse.
Because of the delay caused, the drivers were also frustrated and was driving very rash through out the journey. At morning, I asked the driver to stop in a decent place so that the ladies can use the rest-room. He initially denied that, then I pleased him to stop by a decent hotel just after Salem at 6:30AM. After reaching Madurai, the cleaner shouted at a very elderly couple who were at the end of the bus to alight them down quickly as the bus was short of time.
Whose problems were all this? I would suggest to go for Royal or KPN travels for almost equal or slightly higher price in the same route that is highly punctual, clean and decently behaved than the SRS in this route. Please take care folks.
