I had a horrible experience travelling with Shama Sardar both ways i.e from Bangalore to Kodai and then again from Kodai to Bangalore. While going from Bangalore to Kodai, the actual bus did not come. They told us the bus was cancelled and arranged for some bus to some remote location after Hosur and then around 12:30AM we had to get into another sleeper bus to Kodai. While returning from Kodai to Bangalore, they again told us that the bus was cancelled. And arranged for a car till palani - and then another bus from Palani to Bangalore. Though the staff was very courteous - it was not a pleasant experience as we were so tense multiple times during the cab ride through the dark ghats.
The bus was meant to start from Majestic at 2230hrs but instead we were put onto a connecting bus which took us all the way to the checkpost on the Karnataka border and as a result go into the bus only at 0000hrs. When there is a connecting bus RedBus should inform people while booking because this is rather inconvenient. We paid for an AC sleeper bus and were taken in a non-ac seater for ~2hours. The fair to Hosur in a similar bus is ~500rs and this amount is what we have been cheated off. Again, such details should be informed because it is very inconvenient to have to wait for so long just so that one can finally sit down comfortably knowing they dont have to move till they reach. Also, saying that the bus starts from Majestic is a lie. Apart form this, the bus seat was not clean, god knows when it was cleaned last. We did get a blanket, also seemed very dirty though. No amenities like plug points etc available. Id pass on Padmesh Travels, not worth it.
The bus arrived at the destination more than two hours later than it was supposed to.
The driver was very ridiculous. He has not stopped the bus even for some necessity. All of the passengers were angry against him but of no use. He has been very stubborn and never bothered about passengers comfort
